Favorite Place on Campus: It's so difficult to choose a favorite spot here at Westmont. There are so many places where a break in the trees reveals the Pacific Ocean and Channel Islands in the distance. I'm compelled to pause and take refreshment every time I'm confronted with these views.

Favorite Aspect of Westmont: I am continually impressed by the people here at Westmont, whether they're faculty, staff or students. This is a community that is singularly focused on a robust vision. It is a community, first, that takes its Christian faith very seriously, which means asking questions—big questions—of the faith, rather than taking it for granted. Further, it's a community that expects that faith to drive them into engagement with every sphere of society in every corner of the world. Finally, Westmont is an entrepreneurial community. That is, no one seems content to do things the way they've always been done. Whatever the field, students, faculty and staff are persistent in pushing the boundaries of the possible. Westmont is a community that continually impresses and challenges me.

Hobbies: Dining out with my wife is among my favorite things. I wouldn't call myself a foodie, but I do love finding an eatery doing interesting and tasty things. I also invest inordinate amounts of emotional energy in Ohio State football and Cincinnati Reds baseball, thanks to my father and grandfather, who fed my devotion from an early age. A perfect day might be an afternoon at the ballpark, followed by a night out at a hole-in-the-wall restaurant in the company of my favorite person.
