Campus Life Spring Sing 2023!
At Spring Sing, Westmont students from each residence hall produce Broadway-style skits and compete for prizes and bragging rights. The longest-running tradition on campus, this event involves more students than any other Westmont activity. Performers in Spring Sing use song, dance and an occasional faculty/staff guest appearance to tell a story about this year’s theme.
Spring Sing 2023: the theme is currently buffering, check back soon...
The goal of a Spring Sing theme is to provide a general atmosphere within which individual halls can uniquely interpret it's title and incorporate it into their skits. From the perilous accounts of "Houston, We Have a Problem" (2008) to the reminiscences of "Four Score and Seven Years Ago" (2018), Spring Sing themes have covered much ground (so long as that ground stays on the stage). As we returned to a new era of Spring Sing following the pandemic, the theme "And We're Back!" invited halls to present their creative interpretation of a story that incorporates a return to that which once was.
The question we now face, given we have made our return, is: where will we go to next?
About Spring Sing
Spring Sing is admittedly a wonderful and challenging event because of the breadth and scope of the program and its audience. It has long been the policy and practice of Spring Sing to err on the side of caution and limit any content that could be confusing, misinterpreted, or potentially offensive. The care and dialogue required for important conversations, specifically on critical topics like race, ethnicity, gender, and sexuality are simply not present in the fast-moving, comedic venue that is Spring Sing. For many years, the Spring Sing team has taken a cautious approach to minimize potential offense or confusion. While the product is never perfect it is intended for a broad and general audience. Spring Sing staff would welcome any follow-up questions or discussions on our policies or practices.

Frequently Asked Questions
Tickets
Where can I buy a ticket?
Tickets are sold through AXS (pre-sale) or at the Bowl Box Office on the day of Spring Sing.
Didn't Westmont use to sell tickets on campus?
Yes. We used to sell tickets on campus but due to a variety of reasons we are now selling only through AXS.com or The Bowl Box Office.
Will Spring Sing sell out?
With a venue the size of the Santa Barbara Bowl we do not expect to sell out of seats and you should be able to buy general admission tickets on the day of the show from the Box Office.
But we do anticipate the reserved seats to sell out…so order yours early if you’d like a reserved seat!
Where will I be sitting if I purchase a general admission ticket?
Take a look at the seating chart. Your general admission ticket will allow you to sit anywhere in sections A-I. This is marked "reserved" on the chart because it is reserved at other performances. For Spring Sing, this is our general admission area. Keep in mind that with the exception of a handful of seats, this section is first come first served! Doors open at 5:15pm and people arrive early!
Where will I be sitting if I purchase a Preferred/Reserved ticket?
These tickets save you a seat in the preferred seating section. Take a look at the seating chart. Your reserved ticket will save you a seat in Sections J - O.
Why buy a reserved ticket?
Reserved tickets give you the freedom to arrive at the show minutes before and still have a great seat.
