Student Spotlight Ana Bulger

Ana Bulger ’19 enjoys working as a teaching assistant in the chemistry lab, problem-solving with students as they conduct their experiments. “I love seeing their minds figure things out—and hearing them say chemistry is cool, because I think it’s cool too,” she says.

The sophomore majors in both biology and chemistry and thinks about pursuing a doctorate so she can teach at a university, work directly with students and foster an atmosphere similar to Westmont’s. “The classes here are just the right size, and the one-on-one interaction with professors is such a gift,” she says.

Outside the chemistry lab, the Massachusetts native relaxes with fellow members of the coffee club, sampling brews from the many coffee shops around Santa Barbara. “I go and study in coffee shops every weekend; it’s almost religious.”
